The Andrew Winfield Richards Foundation was created in 1997 to honor the memory of Drew through the creation of this Foundation.

 

Over the years the Foundation Mission has matured and changed to broaden our philanthropic efforts.

 

Initially, we funded over 250 $1,000 Awards of Excellence to our area Teachers and Students who exhibited excellence in academics, leadership and citizenship.  All awards have always been based on merit and have strived to encourage and reward Excellence at all socia-economic levels.

Over the past 15 years our focus has been modified to make Awards of Excellence to individuals and groups nationwide who have exhibited special qualities worthy of the Award of Excellence.  Among those are Adults who have made exceptional efforts on behalf of others, Students who have lead with conviction and numerous Non-Profit Organizations who are doing unique and special work that often is overlooked and almost always underfunded.

 

100% of the donations made are Tax Deductible through the 501 c3, Andrew Winfield Richards Foundation.                         

The Richards family has always been committed to paying all cost associated with operating the Foundation.
